Applications

Ni-Mg Alloy, is mainly used as a nodularizer for the manufacture of ductile cast iron. The magnesium in Ni-Mg can be added into molten steel more efficiently and safely so as to keep the output and the special property of the cast iron.

The Mg can be melted in nickel highly without any segregation, and the slow reaction performance of the Mg in the molten steel makes itself be an efficient, economical and safe additive in base iron. Compared with other additives without Mg, It has a better recovery and can ensure that production is stable.

The Nickel in Ni-Mg alloys works as graphitizator and pearlite stabilizer, so the tensile strength and mechanical property of the material can be improved. Also with the application of the Ni-Mg, the variance of the light and heavy casting piece is reduced in the production. Moreover, it has excellent effect in austenite and bainite ductile cast iron.

Nickel-magnesium alloys are also used as intermediate alloys in the production of nickel-based superalloys and nickel-containing special steels.
